About the Artist I was born in Paddington, Sydney in 1975 and spent half my childhood in a country town called Forbes, the other half in the Blue Mountains. Mr Squiggle, Monkey and The Magic Roundabout made lasting impressions on me growing up. I've also been hugely inspired and influenced by Maurice Sendak and scary old Arthur Rackham illustrations, and I loved the detail and mood of Ron Brooks' pictures for 'John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat' and 'The Bunyip of Berkeley's Creek'. Nursery
rhymes, fairytales, treasured picture books, music and travel remain
a continuous source of inspiration and ideas. I’ve been part of
several exhibitions here and abroad. I’ve also been, variously,
a postie, dishy, mandolinist and faun. |
